Taiwanese tea flavors meet crisp popcorn

Heartland NY High Mountain Oolong Tea Popcorn 1.76 oz front package

Taiwanese Tea, Popped in New York

Heartland NY turns flavors its team grew up with in Taiwan into popcorn for a New York audience. Tea-shop favorites such as high-mountain oolong, Tie Guan Yin, and matcha sit alongside strawberry roselle, passion fruit green tea, and seaweed. The idea began when the team could not find popcorn that tasted genuinely Taiwanese rather than artificially flavored, so it developed its own six-flavor range. The Tie Guan Yin popcorn later received a Two-Star Award in the New Taipei City Specialty Baked Goods Competition, recognizing a snack that carries Taiwanese tea culture into an unexpected form.

Whole Tea Leaves, Exacting Ratios

Heartland NY builds flavor with real ingredients rather than artificial flavorings. For its tea popcorns, whole tea leaves are finely ground so their fragrance and gentle bitterness can coat round, crisp kernels. The team repeatedly adjusted tea-to-popcorn proportions during development, looking for a finish that tastes like brewed tea instead of candy. Fruit, roselle, seaweed, and plant-protein ingredients receive the same careful treatment, producing distinctive seasonings that remain clear and balanced from the first handful to the last.
