Origins
Nopal (prickly pear cactus) has been eaten in Mexico for over 9,000 years and remains a staple of Mexican home cooking and street food culture. Seasoned and dried nopal is a traditional Mexican confection, part of the same chile-lime snack tradition that includes mango con tajín, watermelon with chili salt, and jicama with lime. CHUZA packages this tradition for an American market that's only beginning to discover Mexican snack culture.
