Solomon Makes Quality Tea Fit Cities

Solomon grew up in San Francisco in a Cantonese family where good tea was expected, not reserved for experts. After moving to New York in 2021, he noticed how often speed and convenience came at the expense of flavor and quality. He founded Ivy Hermit to make serious tea fit a demanding city day and to teach the seven main categories of Camellia sinensis without turning tea into an inaccessible subject. His aim is practical and philosophical: give people a compact ritual that lets them stay engaged with modern life while reclaiming a few attentive minutes.

Tea Concentrated, Frozen at Minus Sixty

Ivy Hermit concentrates brewed tea into small resin capsules, then freeze-dries them at minus 60 degrees Celsius to preserve aroma and dissolve quickly in hot, cold, or sparkling water. Jasmine Raw Pu’er begins with high-mountain Yunnan tea naturally scented through repeated contact with fresh jasmine blossoms—without fragrance oils or sprays. The ripe Pu’er reserve uses Menghai tea, with selected versions incorporating aged orange peel for depth. The process removes bulk and brewing equipment while keeping the tea’s origin, fragrance, and layered finish at the center.
