Meet cupuaçu (coo-pu-ah-soo): cocoa's creamier, caffeine-free Amazonian cousin, in the first sweet bar of its kind to be made in the US.
- Brazil's national fruit: recognized as Brazil's national fruit until dethroned by açaí in 2026
- Cocoa's cousin: a creamier, butterier flavor than cocoa with a subtle tropical note
- Only 3 clean ingredients: Cupuaçu seeds, dates, and cocoa butter. No added sugar, no fillers, no preservatives.
- Sustainable Amazonian farms: sourced from regenerative smallholder farms practicing agroforestry in Brazil's Pará state, using often otherwise discarded seeds to produce to a one-of-a-kind bar
For the curious chocolate lover who wants to taste something new - not a variation on a theme, but a different story entirely from the same Amazonian forest.
Origins
Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a close botanical relative of cocoa, native to the Amazon basin and deeply embedded in Brazilian food culture, its pulp is used in smoothies, sweets, and desserts across the country. The seeds, often discarded as a byproduct, can be fermented and ground into a smooth bar as Figa does.
Taste: Nutty, Tropical, Sweet.
Texture: Smooth.
